International Education Week: November 14 - 18

 

Each year in November, FIU participates in the national effort to celebrate International Education Week (IEW). International Education Week has been designated by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education as a time to highlight the benefits of international education and cultural exchange worldwide and to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment.

Check out what FIU has to offer and learn more about all the ways we keep our students, faculty and staff globally engaged. Join us as we celebrate and learn from the cultural diversity present here on our own campuses as well as our connections to the world beyond FIU.

Conference: Bringing Dōgen Down to Earth

Sponsored by the Buddha Soto Zen Center, the Asian Studies Program, the Program in the Study of Spirituality and the Department of Religious Studies

This conference will feature five prominent, internationally-recognized figures in the study of the life and teachings of Dōgen, a thirteenth-century Zen Master and philosopher. Each of these guests have either studied or worked closely with researchers and thinkers from Komazawa University in Tokyo, which houses the leading Buddhist Studies Department in Japan.  This event is free and open to the public.
