Dr. Ana M. Sippin, Ed.D.

Ana has been in the field of higher education for over 25 years. For the past 13 years she has been in the international education arena, focusing on issues and regulations affecting international students and scholars. She advises international student and scholars as well as university departments on immigration issues. She specializes in F-1 and J-1 issues and medical insurance. Ana has an Ed.D. in Higher Education from Florida Atlantic University, a M.S. in Student Personnel and Guidance from East Texas State University (Texas A & M University-Commerce) and a B.A. in Psychology from FIU. Ana serves on NAFSA Region VII Team and previously served as Miami District Coordinator for the Florida Association of International Educators (FAIE). Ana was born in Cuba and grew up in Miami.

Nancy Hernandez

Nancy has been in the field of international education for 18 years. She advises international students and the university community on immigration issues, oversees the overall management of all programs and services for ISSS at Biscayne Bay Campus. Prior to ISSS, Nancy worked at FIU’s Office of Admissions as Assistant Director. She was Assistant Director of International Admissions at Barry University prior to working at FIU. Nancy holds a Master of Education degree in Counseling and Personnel Services and a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish Literature from Fordham University. Nancy is a native New Yorker.

Ted has been with FIU for more than nine years. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Ted came to FIU and completed his BS in Communication and MA in English. He has worked as an adjunct professor in the English Department and in the Registrar's Office as the Director of Veteran Services and the Certifying Officer for NCAA Compliance. He advises international students with F-1 visas on immigration, educational, and cultural issues. Ted is originally from Deerfield, New Hampshire

Anoush McNamee

Anoush has been working in the field of International Education since 2001. She advises international students and university departments on immigration issues, specializing in F-1 employment matters and federal compliance. Anoush is responsible of monitoring, updating and reporting student status to immigration services. She is a member of the Florida Association of International Educators (FAIE) and NAFSA:Association of International Educators. She received a B.B.A. in Marketing and International Business, and a M.S. in Educational Leadership from FIU. She holds an A.A. in Business Administration from Broward Community College and an A.A. in Fashion Merchandising Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Anoush is originally from Jamaica.

Evelyn Rodriguez

Evelyn started working with international students in 1999. She received her BBA in Computer Programming and her A.A. in Marketing from the University of Puerto Rico. As the SEVIS Coordinator she manages the SEVIS database in PantherSoft. She is also responsible of monitoring, updating and reporting student status to immigration services.

Julie Wilbers

Julie has been working in the field of international education since 2006. Prior to coming to FIU, she worked in foreign credential evaluation. She received her BA in International Affairs and German from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. As the coordinator of ISSS at the Biscayne Bay Campus, she advises international students on immigration, educational and cultural concerns, advises the International Student Club and the International Peer Mentors and develops and implements programs related to international students. Julie is originally from Kentucky.

Jessica Larsen

Jessica has been working with international students since 1999. Before coming to FIU, she worked in a variety of positions which included social and cultural programming for international students, teaching English as a second language in the U.S., Brazil and China, issuing immigration documents for prospective international students, and evaluating foreign credentials. She received her B.A. in History at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa and her M.Ed. in TESOL at the University of Maryland, College Park. She advises international students with F-1 visas on immigration, educational and cultural issues. Jessica is originally from Gainesville, Florida.
