ISSS Appointment Policy
FIU is among the top institutions nationwide with
the highest international student population and in order for
ISSS Advisors to give their full attention to students’ questions
and concerns, students are asked to schedule an appointment. Please
call ahead to schedule an appointment. It is recommended that
you bring your immigration documents (ex. I-20, passport, I-94) and/or
other documents pertinent to your appointment.
Walk-In Wednesdays
Every semester, ISSS conducts Walk-In Hours on specific Wednesdays. An ISSS advisor will be available to answer general immigration questions and related issues. Immigration benefit applications (CPT, OPT, Employment or Reinstatement) will still require an appointment with an ISSS Advisor. Should a major issue arise or the student’s situation is deemed complex and requires more detailed advising, the ISSS Advisor will schedule the student for the next available appointment.
