International Student Advisor and Events Coordinator/DSO ISSS – MMC

Bio

Claudia joined the ISSS team as an international student coordinator in December 2013. Claudia has over 10 years of experience working with international students at several universities. She provides immigration advising to students on an F1 and J1 visa and also develops, plans and coordinates all aspects of social, cultural and educational programs, seminars and events promoting intercultural communication and education among students and the community. Claudia serves as advisor to the International Student Club (ISC) at MMC as well as the International Peer Mentors.

Claudia received her B.S. Degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and a minor in Economics from Rockford University in 2000. While she was an undergraduate student, she worked at the International Student Office as an International Ambassador and won the Intercultural award for 2 consecutive years. In 2003 Claudia returned to Rockford University where she received her Master’s in Business Administration degree majoring in International Business. During this time she also worked in the Admissions Office as an International Student Recruiter for Rockford University and traveled to several countries. A native of Venezuela, she traveled to the United States at a young age under the AFS exchange program and completed high school at Waukesha West, Wisconsin
