Appointment Policy

FIU is among the top institutions nationwide with the highest international student population; and in order for ISSS Advisors to give their full attention to students’ questions and concerns, you are asked to schedule an appointment. It is recommended that you bring your immigration documents (ex. I-20, passport, I-94) and/or other documents pertinent to your appointment.

You can schedule an appointment with one of our advisors using the ISSS Virtual Appointment Request Form.

ISSS VIRTUAL OFFICE

Every day, ISSS offers a virtual "walk-in" opportunity for international students who have general questions. An ISSS advisor will be available to answer general immigration questions and related issues, so you may be seen without an appointment. Immigration benefit applications (CPT, OPT, Employment Authorization or Reinstatement) will still require an appointment with an ISSS Advisor. If a major issue arises or if the student’s situation is deemed complex and requires more detailed advising, we will schedule you for the next available appointment.
