Isaac Benavides holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from FIU. As a first-generation American, Isaac has been dedicated to supporting FIU students from all backgrounds for several years through various student services roles within the university. Currently serving as a Coordinator and Designated School Official (DSO) at ISSS, his priority is to assist international students with immigration-related matters and compliance with federal regulations. As a (DSO), Isaac specializes in advising a diverse international student population and ensuring compliance through the management of records in both university systems and the SEVIS database. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration, expected to be completed in Fall 2025. Isaac is deeply committed to international higher education and in supporting students throughout every stage of their academic journey at FIU. His goal is to help students succeed while fostering a welcoming environment that feels like a home away from home.
